When you step into A Sanctuary Cafe, the espresso bar and its beautiful pastry case are the first things you see. A Sanctuary Cafe strives to be a truly welcoming space for all, from one-time tourists to daily “regulars”. As a community-focused cafe, our made-to-order drinks and extensive pastry case feature some of the greater Boston area’s best local roasters, tea experts and bakers. If your favorite part of working at a cafe is connecting with customers and brightening someone’s day with a perfectly timed dose of caffeine or a sugary treat, this may be the ideal job for you!

Requirements (please do not apply if you do not meet ALL of these):

• At least one year of cafe experience

• Genuine interest in making sure ALL visitors feel welcome

• Community-oriented and enjoy building relationships with “regulars”

• Full-time availability (40 hours/week with 8 hour shifts)

• Ability to work weekends (A Sanctuary Cafe will be open Wednesday through Sunday and closed Monday & Tuesday)

• Ability to maneuver 40 pound containers

• Ability to work onsite (this position has very little remote work)

Preferred Experience:

• Have lived in the greater Boston area for at least 3 years (hiring local is one of our core values)

Hourly Rate: Starting at $22.59 (Based on MIT’s Living Wage Calculator), plus tips
